Supported by a funding allocation from the Thriving Neighbourhoods Programme and CIL funding from Junction Ward councillors Sheila Chapman, Janet Burgess and James Potts, we are currently planning improvements to the old ball court and near by green area at Palmers Estate to transform it into an attractive inclusive community space. We want to ensure the improvements meet the needs and priorities of the estates residents and local community.

With your help we can create an attractive space for you and your neighbours to enjoy, including improvements such as planting, play equipment and planters for community gardening.

Following our successful first round of engagement we are in the process of analysing all responses. In the following months we will be working internally to provide the best possible outcomes baring in mind residents responses and feasibility with budget allocated.

Once concepts are closer to being finalised we will do a second round of in person engagement to receive further feedback before commencing with works.

Further updates will follow shortly.

Initial resident survey

The feedback provided fed into early stage designs developed for the open space within the estate.

All ideas were very welcomed, the survey was open until 15th April 2025.

We also sent a letter to Palmers Estate residents which contains a paper copy of the same survey questions.

Survey background - which areas are we planning to improve?

The survey refered to the two below areas that we are looking at:

In close-up, these are:

Zone A - the old ball court

And Zone B - the open space at Greafield Close
