New Housing Resident Group
Design workshop
What is it?
We’re setting up a new resident group to review housing services. It will look closely at one part of housing services at a time and recommend improvements.
We want residents to help shape how it works including what it’s called.
That’s what the design workshops are for.
To get this kicked off we will be holding three co-design workshops:
1) Monday 17th August 2026 Time: 12pm-1pm (Online)
2) Monday 7th September 2026 Time: 6pm-7pm (Online)
3) Thursday 10th September 2026 Time: 6pm-7pm - Islington West Library (in person)
What will the group actually do?
Each year, residents pick two or three things in housing services to review
The group spends appropriate time reviewing these. They bring their own experience to what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change.
They speak directly to the teams involved, gather evidence, and then make recommendations
Senior managers have to respond in writing and act on what residents recommendations.
It’s about giving residents opportunity to recommend meaningful improvements for tenants and leaseholders.
Why we need this group
We want to empower residents to keep the council accountable in service improvement for Housing and trust us in being transparent in making it happen.
We want residents to help shape how it works including what it’s called.
As a Thank You for your time at the workshop we will be offering a £25 voucher.
