New Housing Resident Group

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent design workshops for the new housing resident group and contributing their ideas and experiences.

The group would be set up to carry out deep dives into specific aspects of the housing service and recommend practical improvements.

Residents shared their views on how the group should work, how meetings should be organised and what issues matter most to them. Key themes included:

• A desire for a genuinely resident-led group.
• Flexible meeting arrangements, including online and face-to-face options.
• Clear accountability and visible action from resident recommendations.
• Residents suggested a communication plan to promote the group and its outcomes.
• A name that is active and outcome-focused rather than passive or, in residents’ words, “wishy-washy”.

Next steps: Feedback from all workshops will be reviewed and used to support the development and recruitment of the new resident-led group.
