Islington is making changes to the way local services for children, young people, and families work, like schools, health, social care, youth clubs, or mental health support. We want these services to be easier to use, quicker to respond, and more joined‑up so families get the right help at the right time.

We want young people and families themselves to help shape these changes. That’s why we’re looking for parents, carers, and young people aged 0–25 to join our group of Co‑Designers.

What can we offer

  • Paid role – London Living Wage (£14.80 per hour)

  • Flexible commitment – up to 15 hours per month

  • Travel costs and childcare covered for sessions

  • Gain new skills and training

  • Real impact – your voice will shape how services work together to support Islington families!

  • Collaboration – an opportunity to work with other parents, carers, young people and professionals

What you’ll do

As part of a group of co-designers, you’ll:

  • Join workshops and group sessions (in person or online).
  • Share your experiences of using local services.
  • Work with other families and professionals to come up with ideas.
  • Give feedback as changes are made.
  • Speak to your community, friends and family about what would make services work better for them.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need special qualifications - just your experience as a parent, carer, or young person in Islington. We want to hear from people across all of our diverse communities.

Why this matters

Families often have to deal with lots of different local services - health, schools, social care, and more. By shaping services together, we can make sure support is:

  • Simple to find - with services in one place, like online or in a Family Hub.
  • Available when needed
  • Flexible - shaped around each family’s situation.
  • Joined up - so families don’t have to repeat their story again and again.

👉 Apply now using the application forms below to join us as a Co-Designer and help shape the future of local services in Islington.
