Consultation has concluded

Great News - We are delighted to announce that the improvements to the shared space at Bovingdon Close have now been completed. These upgrades include new play equipment, planting, and planters for community gardening. 

Your Junction ward councillors have worked in partnership with Groundwork to transform the former ball court into an attractive and welcoming community space.

This project has been fully funded through the Thriving Neighbourhoods programme and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding during the improvement of the former ball court. The space has now been transformed into a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.


Works Completed

Food Growing Garden Area

  • New raised planter
  • New food growing planters
  • New storage unit
  • New compost bins
  • Upgraded garage guttering to collect rainwater for reuse in gardening
  • New water butt
  • New benches, including a bench integrated into a planter

Play Area

  • New colourful wetpour safety surfacing
  • Interactive sensory play panel
  • Trampoline
  • Basket swing
  • Spinner bowl

Other Improvements

  • New gate and railings to improve safety
  • New keypad access system
  • Trees along the ball court cut back to improve visibility and light
  • Replacement of damaged mesh fencing and wall sections
  • New pedestrian entrance area
  • New resin-bound pedestrian walkway
