We are looking to promote greater diversity on our school governing bodies so that they reflect the settings’ local communities. We also want to ensure that strong Equality, Diversity and Inclusion practices are embedded in the settings to ensure all children, whatever their background, are able to achieve, thrive and be ready for adult life.
Please help us by completing this short on-line survey about the diversity and inclusiveness of your governing body. The deadline for completion of the survey is Monday 2 June 2025. This is entirely voluntary, and the report will not identify individual governors and schools.
This survey follows on from a similar survey we carried out in spring 2021 which resulted in a Governors’ Diversity Action Plan. The survey aims to assess how the profiles of governing bodies have changed in the last four years. It also aims to evaluate what impact the Action Plan has had so far and how we can progress further.
The report will be shared with governors at central meetings such as Governors’ Briefing and Chairs’ Advisory Group, in the online newsletter Governor News and on Governor Hub, as well as with council managers, so that we can plan actions to support increased diversity on governing bodies and more effective diversity practice.
If you are a governor or trustee at more than one Islington school, federation or academy, we would be grateful if you could please complete a survey for each setting.
