We have been working with the community since 2017 to explore how we can improve the Finsbury Leisure Centre site, bring it up to date, and deliver wider benefits for the local community.

On this website you can find our latest design proposals which include more detail on what the new buildings will look like and how we have used the community’s feedback to shape the updated plans.

Update on our January 2024 engagement

Thank you to everyone who engaged with us during our January engagement events. We received lots of helpful feedback which the project team is using to inform their work to further develop the designs. A report summarising the feedback we received can be viewed at the bottom of this page.

We will be holding further events in the summer to present the updated proposals, ahead of submitting a planning application.

  • around 100 council homes, with another 100 for sale to help pay for them
  • space for an NHS GP surgery
  • new planting, greenery, and improved walking and cycle routes
  • an excellent and affordable sports and leisure centre.
