About Age Friendly Islington

We want Islington to be a place where people can live well, stay connected and continue to enjoy their community as they get older.

Islington is part of the World Health Organization’s Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities. Being age friendly means looking at the things that can make a real difference to people’s everyday lives as they age - from getting around and enjoying local spaces, to housing, social connections, accessing information and services, and having opportunities to be involved in community life.

What are we doing now?

We are continuing to develop Age Friendly Islington by listening to the experiences of local people aged 55 and over.

Our Age Friendly Islington Survey (below) is an important part of this work. It will help us understand what is working well, where people experience challenges and what could make Islington a better place to grow older.

We are working with Age UK Islington and a wide range of local partners and community networks to make sure we hear from people with different experiences across the borough.

Please complete the survey at the bottom of this page

The survey will take around 10 minutes. Please share the survey with family, friends and neighbours aged 55+ who live in Islington.

After completing the survey, you can also enter our prize draw for the chance of winning a £25 voucher . You can find the prize draw rules here.

What happens next?

What you tell us will help us identify the issues that matter most to residents as they get older and inform the next stage of Age Friendly Islington.

The survey is not the end of the conversation. There will be opportunities for residents to stay involved, take part in future activities and events, and help shape how Age Friendly Islington develops.

  • Are you over the age of 55?

Age Friendly Islington is about making Islington a great place to grow older, where people can stay active, connected and involved in their communities, and access the services and support they need as they age.

We want Islington to be a place where people can live well as they grow older.

This survey asks about different parts of everyday life, including your home, getting around, health, local places activities and getting information.

    Your answers will tell us:

    • What is working well in Islington

    • What makes life harder

    • What matters the most to you

    • Where things could be better

We may not be able to change everything, but what you tell us will help shape our priorities.

This survey is the start of the conversation.  We will look at what people tell us alongside other information about Islington and talk to local communities.

The survey takes around 10 minutes.  You can skip any questions you do not wish to answer.

    Who can take part?

This survey is mainly for people aged 55 and over who live in Islington.

If you are helping someone complete the survey, please answer using their views and experiences.

After completing the survey, you can choose to enter our prize draw to win a £25 voucher!
