Your ward Councillors would like to hear your views on possible improvements to the existing lawn area and existing children’s play area at Williamson Street Estate.
To ensure that any future developments are driven by the ideas of Williamson Street residents, you are invited to share your views by completing the short questionnaire below and attending the in-person engagement session on Tuesday 12 March2024 at The Community Centre between 4.30pm and 6.00pm.
What are the proposals?
1. Lawn area - To increase the use of the existing lawn, it has been proposed that natural play equipment and seating are added to the area. The images above provide indicative ideas of the type of equipment and seating that could be installed.
2. Existing play area - Following feedback from residents that the exiting play area is not well used, it has been proposed that the area is brought back into use. Two ideas have been suggested:
a. To convert the space into a multi-use games area with the installation of equipment such as a ping pong table, basketball hoop, or super-size board games.
b. To convert the space into a community planting area and garden, to grow flowers, plants, fruit, veg, and herbs.
The design maps have been added to the documents section for your viewing.
