Improving the School Street on Carleton Road and Dalmeny Road

Project: Greening and other improvements to existing School Street on Carleton Road and Dalmeny Road outside Tufnell Park Primary School and The Bridge Secondary School

Map showing location of scheme - Carleton Road and Dalmeny Road

     What it could involve:

    • New greenery (trees and low-level planting) – including potentially by removing some parking spaces and building out pavements
    • Potential for:
      • New public seating
      • Fun features for informal children’s play (e.g. hopscotch, stepping stones)

Why do we want to make these types of changes?

    • Greening can help soften the street environment, help mitigate climate impacts such as heat and flooding, and support biodiversity
    • Create places for people to sit and rest while waiting for school pick-up
    • Make the area outside the schools more child-friendly, creating fun and interesting features for children to interact with before/after school

Please tell us your views and ideas about this:

    • Fill in our short online survey by Monday 21 July.
    • Come and talk to us - we will be outside the two schools on Wednesday 16 July 2025 to talk to local people about your ideas and any questions you may have
