- New greenery (trees and low-level planting) – including potentially by removing some parking spaces and building out pavements

- Fun features for informal children’s play (e.g. hopscotch, stepping stones)
- Greening can help soften the street environment, help mitigate climate impacts such as heat and flooding, and support biodiversity
- Create places for people to sit and rest while waiting for school pick-up
- Make the area outside the schools more child-friendly, creating fun and interesting features for children to interact with before/after school

Improving existing historic traffic filters to create "pocket parks"
Please note that the public engagement period for this element of the project has closed and we are now considering the feedback we have received to help inform designs that we are developing for public consultation.
Project: Greening and other improvements to existing traffic filters on Huddleston Road and Dalmeny Road to create "pocket parks" and make them a more accessible layout for people wheeling, walking and cycling.

Our public engagement on the improvements to three existing public spaces/seating areas, and two existing traffic filters to create “pocket parks” ran from Tuesday, 22 April to Tuesday, 6 May 2025.
We are now considering the feedback we have received from the public engagement to help inform designs that we are developing for public consultation.
