Islington Council would like to hear from the residents of the Triangle Estate on three key improvement proposals that are being developed. These are:

  • Security, access and CCTV
  • Podium garden improvements
  • Signage, wayfinding and artwork

We are also investigating improvements to the undercroft garage area.

This project will be funded using a combination of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, allocated by your Bunhill ward councillors, and Thriving Neighbourhoods funding.

On Wednesday 13 March between 4-7pm we will be holding a resident engagement event by the podium garden area to discuss the proposals.

If you are unable to join us, please see the engagement material and concept designs in the document sections of the page. We would welcome your feedback to help develop the proposals further. Please see the resident survey at the bottom of the page.

We will also be offering refreshments as part of the event.

The feedback form is open until Friday 5 April.

You can also contact the council via the e-mail address TriangleEstate@islington.gov.uk.

The Proposals

Access Control and site security

The proposal is to secure the perimeter of each building on the ground floor by installing new threshold doorways at each entrance with audio visual control and fob access, secure access to the lifts at ground floor and first floor and install more lighting in key locations to enhance safety at approaches, entrances and exits.

The proposal also includes CCTV at key entrances and at the podium level garden.

Landscaping to central podium

The early proposal for the podium level garden is aimed to make the garden a usable space for residents of the estate, providing a place to sit down and for children to play in.

We would like to hear what residents would like to prioritise as part of the new landscaping before developing ideas further.

Artworks and connecting walkways

Early thoughts are to include some new artwork on the estate with resident collaboration along with potential improvements to the walkways.

Redevelopment of undercroft garages

The proposal for the undercroft explores the possibility of the garages being converted into workspace and/or storage spaces to create an occupied area. Unfortunately, there is currently not the funding in place to develop the proposal further, however, we would welcome resident feedback and initial thoughts on the idea.
