We would like to hear from you about how we could develop and transform the old ball court, the pathway and stark surrounding courtyard area. This is an opportunity for you to be actively involved in making positive changes to your community and neighbourhood.

All ideas are very welcomed, however small or large they may be.

With support from the Thriving Neighbourhoods estate investment programme and developer contributions Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, redevelopment works to this area will be fully funded and therefore will not be recharged to residents.

For further details please see our Shearling Way concept design

There will also be an opportunity to share your ideas in-person at a consultation event on Saturday 3 February 2024 between 11am and 2pm at the Goodinge Community Centre, to discuss designs and next steps.

Please complete our survey to tell us what you think about the design and new areas for improvement and submit your feedback by Friday 9 February 2024.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

    The design focuses on:

    • Creating a combined use area in the ball court for community activities including seating, play features for children, planting and a viewing platform.
    • This includes space for community gardening/food growing and a play space in the nature garden area.
    • Adding planting, small trees and raised planters across all three areas

Play features are selected to appeal to a wide variety of ages and will likely include:

    • Climbing tower: 5+
    • Climbing wall:  younger children, juniors and teens
    • Train logs: toddlers and younger children
    • Table-tennis table: juniors, teens and adults
    • Play mounds: younger children and juniors
