Islington Council and the Thriving Neighbourhood programme is committed to improving and transforming shared spaces on estates in Islington, with the intention of leaving a legacy that positively benefits the residents and builds on strengthening the community.

We are working in partnership with residents, to provide them with an opportunity to tell us what improvements they want to see and be actively involved in making a positive change to their communities and neighbourhoods.

We are looking to improve the Multi Use Games Area at Seaforth Crescent and are interested to hear how residents would like to use this space moving forward?

The space could remain as a Multi Use Games Area and upgraded with modern surfacing and line marking to reflect the sports residents would like to use the area for.

Alternatively, if there is no desire for sports, the space could be repurposed for another community use.

We are looking to fund projects that promote community cohesion, allowing people to come together and improve their mental and physical wellbeing.

The next steps

Based on the feedback given by residents, the initial proposed suggestion will focus on improving the current pitch space and bringing it up to a good functional standard.

Residents also expressed an interest in community gardening on areas of the estate and following a site visit we identified that the small garden area next to the pitch could also benefit from investment and improvements.

Both of these suggestions will be put forward for consideration under Thriving Neighbourhoods Programme 2 and resident's will receive an update in early June 2024.

Subject to funding being approved from the Programme 2 of Thriving Neighbourhoods we will further develop the project for delivery.
