Islington Council and the Thriving Neighbourhoods programme is committed to improving and transforming shared spaces on estates in Islington, with the intention of leaving a legacy that positively benefits the residents and builds on strengthening the community.

We are working in partnership with residents, to provide them with an opportunity to tell us what improvements they want to see and be actively involved in making a positive change to their communities and neighbourhoods.

We are looking to improve the external communal grassed area central to all blocks and transform it into an attractive community space.

This could include;

- Planting,

- Natural play equipment

- Planters for community gardening

- Wildlife improvements (bug hotels, bird boxes, insect friendly planting)

- New seating and making the estate more welcoming.

Do you have any suggestions or more ideas for Hartnoll Road Group communal outdoor spaces?

This is an opportunity for you to tell us what improvements you want to see and be actively involved in making a positive change to your community and neighbourhood. We want you to be proud of where you live and be empowered to make a positive difference.

We are looking to fund projects that promote community cohesion, allowing people to come together and improve their mental and physical wellbeing.

How you can get involved

If you're a resident living in one of the blocks on Hartnoll Road ( Radford House, Hartnoll House, Westbrook House, Willow Court, 43-75 Eden Grove/1-13 Geary Street) then please take a moment to complete the survey below.

How we will use your feedback

Once the survey is closed, we will review all responses, identify the preferred proposals and explore what improvements are feasible to implement.

Pop Up

A pop-up stall will be planned for spring 2024 where residents will have further opportunities to share their ideas and hopes for the space. During the day we will share initial design ideas for the estate and residents will be able to highlight their views on the proposals. The design team will be developing a sketch design based on your survey feedback.

The Next Steps

Following the survey and pop up, and based on the feedback given by residents, design ideas will be revised, finalised and shared.
