What counts as improving my health and wellbeing?

Health isn’t just the absence of ill-health or accessing healthcare. It’s our complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Wellbeing includes feeling comfortable, healthy, and happy.

Health is determined by a complex interaction between individual characteristics, lifestyle and the physical, social and economic environment.

Because our environment impacts our ability to stay well, that’s why the funding is being spent on residents’ local neighbourhood.

    How can I get involved?

The projects that were voted through to get funding are led by residents of Loraine Estate. Please tell them or us if you have any feedback about those projects or what you want them to look like. If you would like to be involved in helping run any of the projects, get in touch with engagement@islington.gov.uk.

When will the funded projects start?

From January 2026, the council and resident Project Leads will start planning for the successful projects. Activities in the community centre will be staggered across the year, with some starting in March 2026. Physical infrastructure projects will start later in the year. We will keep you updated of any work happening and the timelines.

How can I keep updated about this project?

We will update this webpage at every stage of this project to let you know what's happening. You can also sucscribe to emails where it says 'Stay Informed' on this page.
