In Islington, our Education Plan, Putting Children First, sets out how strong and effective partnerships will drive our ambition for educational excellence. Key to the success of the strategy is the need to provide services that meet schools’ needs, are value for money and contribute to our shared high ambitions for children and young people.

Quality Assurance Framework

To demonstrate value for money and to ensure funding is used in a way that supports improved outcomes for children and young people, we have developed a new quality assurance framework that is transparent, consistent and rigorous.

The framework is made up of three distinct steps:

  1. We are asking all Chairs of Governors, Headteachers, and School Business Managers to complete this annual online quality assurance survey to give your feedback on what is working well in our services and what could be improved. The survey groups services into each pillar from the Education Plan and we're asking you to rate each service individually and according to the pillar’s overall objectives.
  2. Separate to this survey, each service will assess their own key performance indicators and how they contribute to the pillar objective and goals through an annual service report or, for traded services, through other evaluation processes.
  3. Every other year, senior officers will organise a Quality Assurance Review grouped by pillar and will invite Chairs of Governors, Headteachers, and School Business Managers to review the outcomes of the online satisfaction survey and the annual service reports.

Across the framework, services are grouped by each Education Plan pillar which are shown here for ease and to help you prepare for the survey:
