Who operates the proposed units and how do I join?
The units are entirely operated by TotalEnergies who operate, run and maintain their network of fast charge points. Instructions on how to join can be accessed on the operators website.
Do I have to be a member to access the service?
No the fast charge points are available on a pay as you use basis. But residents who join will be eligible for discount rates. Check TotalEnergies Charging Services Europe for more information.
When will I be informed of the outcome of the engagement?
The council aims to inform the public on its decision March 2026
Can I access a charge point if it is not in my parking zone?
Yes you can. The charge points are available to anyone who is recharging their vehicle. The electric vehicle bays however must not be used for parking and penalties may be applied by the operator if the vehicle is left in the bay long after a charging session has completed.
What are the hours of operation?
Electric vehicle recharging bays in Islington are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some other boroughs have time restrictions, but all the bays in Islington are available throughout the day, throughout the year.
Do I have to pay to park?
In Islington there are no charges while the vehicle is recharging. The operator may apply parking charges if the stay exceeds the recharging session. Some other boroughs may apply parking charges, users need to check operator and borough conditions.
