Why are we consulting you?
We are consulting council tenants and leaseholders and current car parking permit holders who will be affected by the land disposal and proposed redevelopment of the car park and green space on the Beechcroft Estate.
Background to this consultation
In 2025, Shelter from the Storm consulted residents in the local area on their development proposal which include:
Build high-quality, genuinely affordable homes–the development of new homes, including 9 social homes
Improve the estate green space to the rear of the car park- the proposalprovides an opportunity to transform the green space to benefit estate residents and local community.
What we are asking you
We want to know how this proposal affects you as a council resident and what we could do to address any concerns:
Loss of estate car park - residents will be able to apply for alternative on-street parking permits and park on Roseleigh Avenue but we recognise the removal of the estate car park might be a concern and we want your views on this and how any negative impacts could be mitigated
Changes to the green space – we believe that the proposal will improve the current amenity of green space on the estate but we would like your views on this
Please provide your views through the following survey

We welcome your feedback on how the land disposal and proposed development on the Beechcroft Estate may affect you as a council tenant or leaseholder of Beechcroft Court or a current car park permit holder. We are asking for your responses on issues of housing management - how this proposal affects you as a resident and what could be done to address your concerns.
What is not covered
Feedback from local residents and the wider community on the detailed planning and design aspects of the development proposal - e.g the architecture of the buildings and outside space - has been collected through the 2025 consultation carried out by Shelter from the Storm. Residents will be kept informed of these matters as the proposal continues through the council's planning process.
Please answer the survey questions below and thank you for your feedback.
