Week three Andover And Six Acres Update

What have we been doing on Andover and Six Acres

We received reports of drug dealing, open drug use, rough sleeper and antisocial behaviour (ASB) in Andover & Six Acres Estate. We take these matters seriously and know that this kind of behaviour can be frightening and make people feel unsafe in their homes and whilst travelling through the area.

We are taking the following steps to address these issues:

  • Senior Housing officers have engaged with 37 residents of Six Acres estate, taking the time to address any concerns or tenancy issues they may have .
  • Residents on the Andover estate are being encouraged to engage with the senior housing officers when they see them on the estate.
  • Job has been raised with Alpha Track to fix the closing magnets at Fyfield House this action has been escalated as high priority.
  • Islington council commissions specialist outreach teams who go into the community to support people with drug addiction. Outreach teams are tasked to the area daily, including drug, alcohol and health workers and have been engaging with the street population around Six Acres and area, offering support and helping them away from the street.
  • Street population support workers having been engaging with individuals who have been sleeping rough inside Fyfield, Fallowfield and Haden Court, completing 8 shift per week during the EPR.
  • Estate Service caretakers will provide daily checks and will continue to thoroughly clean and clear any items and debris found in Fyfield house.
  • High visibility patrols by Safer Neighbourhood police in the area. Officers have been issuing ASB Warnings and moving on unauthorised persons loitering around the estates.

Park-guard Update:

  • Multiple weapon sweeps completed across both Andover and Six Acres Estates this week with no weapons found.
  • Several successful community engagement moments, including dog walkers, local shop staff, concierge teams, and residents thanking officers for their presence and support.
  • Youth interactions remained positive throughout the week, with no ASB observed during patrols.
  • Joint reassurance with concierge staff resulted in increased visibility and improved communication regarding issues on site.
  • At Six Acres Estate, officers also assisted a member of the public and provided reassurance where residents expressed concerns.
