Andover & Six Acres Estates update 19th January
What have we been doing on Andover and Six Acres
During the month December 2025 we received various reports of drug dealing, open drug use, rough sleeper and antisocial behaviour (ASB) in Andover & Six Acres Estate. We contacted our partners as quickly as we could to ensure that actions had been allocated to the correct teams to address the issues raised with us and convened a meeting to ensure we could put a robust plan in place. We understand that this kind of behaviour can be frightening and make people feel unsafe in their homes and whilst travelling through the estates.
We took the following steps to address these issues:
- Our contractors at Alpha Tracker have carried out inspections of the broken at Fyfield house. The faulty part has now been identified, and an urgent repair has been raised to replace the magnet on the door.
- In the interim daily inspections of the door in Fyfield house is being carried to ensure no further damage is made to the door.
- Estate Services have assigned mobile caretakers to carry out a deep clean to remove rubbish, and clear bedded down items found on the stairwells.
- Drugs and outreach support services regularly attending the Six acres to engage with any person found sleeping in the blocks.
- Outreach teams are tasked to the area daily, including drug, alcohol and health workers and have been engaging with the street population around Six Acres and area, offering support and helping them away from the streets.
- Combinations of early morning and late evening patrols to target those causing Anti-Social behaviour in the blocks.
- Estate Service caretakers will provide daily checks and will continue to thoroughly clean and clear any items and debris found in Fyfield house.
- High visibility patrols by Safer Neighbourhood police in the area. Officers have been issuing ASB Warnings and moving on unauthorised persons loitering around the estates and car parks
