About the project

Recycling improvement

Islington Council is committed to making recycling as easy and convenient as possible. We think the current recycling bins and refuse bins on 112-130 Copenhagen needs improving and do not make it easy for people who live on the estate to recycle as much as possible. Following a number of visits with your caretakers and housing officers, we developed a proposal for improving recycling facilities on the estate that includes:

  • an increased number of recycling bins to ensure residents can recycle as much as possible
  • installation of new recycling bin and refuse bin enclosures for all bins to improve the look of the recycling and refuse areas
  • co-location of recycling, refuse and food waste bins at each of the three blocks.

For any comments and feedback contact Gassimu Jah at: gassimu.jah@islington.gov.uk

Landscaping improvement

  • Improved landscaping and creating space for pollinators in the communal garden area
  • Improved facilities in the communal garden area
  • New pram shed storage in the front of the block

For any comments and feedback on the landscaping improvement proposal, please contact Eva Nyandoro at: eva.nyandoro@islington.gov.uk

Improvement works will be fully funded and delivered in this years' round of the Thriving Neighbourhoods Estate Investment Programme and will not be recharged to residents.

Please note that ground works will be required to accommodate the new recycling and refuse areas.

The consultation is open to contributions until 11.59pm on Wednesday 28 May.
